Untangle Free Domain business activities at Alliander

"The energy transition in practice"

The energy sector in the Netherlands is in a transition – the Energy Transition. The government aims to unbundle the connections of large corporate customers - the so-called free domain. In the future, the network operator will therefore only provide up to the network connection in the electricity and gas network; the underlying customer installations will be served by the free market. Alliander has launched the Free Domain to Kenter program to achieve this, with Kenter being Alliander's free market party. Based on trust, experience with previous migration issues and experience with process attachment with an IT component, Marcadus has been asked to take on this assignment by providing an IT project manager and a process analyst for both the leaving and receiving side.

Implementation ERP software package IFS at URS

"Belgian pragmatics"

In 2012, the ERP software package IFS was implemented at Smit in Rotterdam. The first roll-out of the package followed six months later. This happened at URS, Smit's towage branch in Antwerp. Where at that time an improvement was made in the processes and the organization. This particularly affected the Finance, Purchasing and Commerce departments. The implementation of the package was a precondition for the improvement, because it provided more process control, better integration of the various departments, and better information provision. In short, more insight into the performance of the company and an important basis for possible further optimization. A complicating factor during the project was the takeover of Smit by Boskalis. This resulted in many new requirements and demanded a lot of time and energy from the employees.

Land consolidation Alliander and Enexis

"Swap without crying"

Network companies Alliander and Enexis have exchanged a number of regional networks with each other with effect from 1 January 2016. The Friesland and Noordoostpolder areas went from Enexis to Liander (part of Alliander) and Southeast Brabant from Alliander to Enexis. In total, this involved approximately 300,000 and 500,000 gas and electricity connections, respectively. The exchange of the associated data – such as customer data, measured values ​​and associated financial values ​​– was a crucial part of this. It had to be possible to demonstrate its correctness and completeness to an external auditor. Our assignment? Setting up and executing a quality control in the field of the completeness of data before, during and after the migration.
